Bender, Kurlander, Hernandez & Campbell Welcomes Attorney Patrick Shea to the Firm

We are proud to announce that Patrick Shea, an experienced San Diego attorney with nearly three decades of legal experience, has joined the firm. He is well-known for his exceptional litigation skills, compassionate client advocacy, and deep understanding of insurance defense and personal injury law.
He began his legal career as a law clerk for San Diego Superior Court Judge Charles R. Hayes before becoming an attorney focused on products liability cases, achieving seven-figure recoveries for clients in nationwide litigation.
Building on that early success, Patrick transitioned into insurance defense, representing some of the country’s largest insurance companies. This experience gave him invaluable insight into how insurers approach claims—insight he now leverages to effectively advocate for his clients. His balanced perspective allows him to constantly negotiate fair settlements, and when litigation is necessary, his clients benefit from extensive courtroom experience.
“We’re thrilled to have Patrick join the firm,” said Bill Bender, Principal and Managing Partner of Bender, Kurlander, Hernandez and Campbell. “His experience, knowledge and exceptional client service make him an ideal fit for our team.”
“I’m excited to be a part of BKHC,” Patrick added. “I’ve known Bill and the firm for quite some time and looking forward to serving its clients up to the high standards they expect, and deserve.”
In addition to personal injury expertise, business litigation, employment matters, and contract disputes, Patrick is a Certified Workers’ Compensation Law Specialist by the California Board of Legal Specialization. He has helped countless clients navigate complex claims and secure their futures after workplace injuries.
Patrick graduated summa cum laude as valedictorian from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, recognized as the top-ranked student in his class and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from San Diego State University.
A practicing attorney since 1996, Patrick is active in the legal community as a member of the San Diego Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, American Bar Association, and California Applicant Attorney Association (CAAA). He is also deeply involved in the autism support community and is a passionate advocate for autism awareness. He resides in San Diego with his wife, Nikki, and their three children, Brady, Jett, and Fiona.
